How to add Custom fields for Product and Allocation Label in Jira

Here are the steps to add custom fields in Jira to map Product and Allocation Label in Hivel:-

  1. Access Jira Administration: Log in to Jira as an administrator.

  2. After successful login, go to the Settings (gear) icon in the top right corner near the profile and click on it. Then, select "Issues" from the dropdown.

  3. Navigate to Custom Fields: After clicking on "Issues" on the left the side panel, under the fields there is "Custom fields", click on it.

  4. Select Field Type: Now you will be redirected to select field type; you can select any of the following field types "Select List(single choice)" or "Short Text(plain text only)." Jira offers various types such as text field, select list, date picker, etc.

  5. Configure the Field: Provide a name for the custom field and configure any additional options based on the field type you selected. For example, if you're creating a dropdown select list, you'll need to define the list of options.

  6. Associate with Screens: Choose the screens where you want the custom field to appear, preferably all screens, so select all. Screens determine where the field will be displayed when users create or edit issues and update.

  7. Add to Projects: Now, in the left panel, Click on "Project Settings" and drag and drop all the projects that need those custom fields.

Note: Repeat the above steps to create additional custom fields if needed. After creating the custom fields, you can add them to the details of the Jira ticket to capture relevant information.
